View Photo »A lot of it is trusting each other to do their job and not trying to that job for them ... So many times, we get into the defensive zone and think we have to be everywhere. Then we start chasing around, and it breaks down. We need to realize that sometimes less is more.
We were listening to a lot of people but there wasn't really anything realistic that we could get done ... We would have loved to get a few draft picks, but this is what we expected for today. We believed we had made our deals already in getting Kari Lehtonen and signing Steve Ott.
Things are going to be extremely tough. It's 12 points, and those are huge. It's our season ... If we don't get the ship in the right direction here on our homestand, we may as well call the season.
I look at this team every day, and I try to figure out where we are going and what we need, and I constantly say that I want us to be a team that's hard to play against ... That's something that Steve Ott gives us every game.
You just can't do that and hope to win
Steve Ott has spent his entire NHL career with the Dallas Stars and we wanted to continue that relationship ... He is the type of player that we want on our team. Steve has become a versatile offensive player and he makes us a harder team to play against. We are excited to have him in a Stars uniform fo...
I mean, if there's a 4-by-8 piece of plywood in there and you get that many shots on it, one or five are going to go through eventually ... Marty played awesome. He's playing his heart out for us, and we have to be better.

Is Steve Ott a punk, or is he just doing his job?
If one guy breaks down, it all breaks down
He was trying to protect himself from Steve Ott, who is a good bodychecker in his own right. I didn't even think it was a penalty, to be honest.
I'm very proud that this is my team, and I always have been
In a funny way, it can be a real catalyst for our team ... I thought we had some good parts, some really good performances by Steve Ott, by [Jere] Lehtinen, by [Toby] Petersen. I thought [Stephane] Robidas played a whale of a game, but we didn’t get good performances from other guys, and we did lose our...
I'm pretty excited to get this done
Steve Ott will play some center, as well. Everybody has to basically do whatever they can to offset the loss. Adversity comes in a lot of different forms, and the answer to how to deal with it is always to rely on the core strengths of your team and take care of the things that you can control, which ar...
I think it worked out great for both sides ... Both sides were honest and open and I thought it was only a matter of time before something got done.
I know that Joe is going to have to do what he thinks is best for the team, and that could be to trade me ... So I do believe there's extra pressure now to make this work.
I think you want to have a break where you can get relaxed and rejuvenated, but it’s also nice to have it with confidence in hand and smiles as well
Marty has played extremely solid for us
I’ve always wanted to run World Challenge because of the single-driver format and amazing cars
Sometimes when you go chirp a head coach or something like that -- why go after the peasant when you can go after the king or the captain? -- it usually draws a lot of attention
This is a huge road trip ... Our road record has been shameful. We need to change that.
I think that was our best 60-minute game in a month or two ... It proves to ourselves that if we play that way and jump on a team like that, physically engaging them and winning one-on-one battles, then we're a heck of a team.
It wasn't perfect, but we needed it ... It just felt like we pulled together and played hard and played for each other. That was huge.
