View Photo »Our coaches told us that we deserved to be here
Everyone comes into the locker room and we're screaming and yelling, but we all know what we have to do ... We knew we had to take care of business. We hadn't been in the district (final) in forever (won title in 2004) so we just came out fired up and it took care of itself.
The PR recognition from Comic-Con, whether it’s the celebrities or a movie release, is so strong that it basically brings a top-of-mind recognition worldwide to the city of San Diego and what a great destination it is, whether for a meeting or a vacation
They'll pull through, I'm confident of that. They'll make the best of any situation in there.
We just knew we had to take care of business ... We have four seniors starting, three more coming off the bench who play a lot. We have two road games left at Nazareth and Parkland [Friday] so it's still not going to be easy. We've been playing well and get along real well. Things have just been clickin...
I couldn't wait for this ... I was shooting in the auxiliary gym before the game just thinking about how much this game means to me. These four years went by fast. They went by fast. And it was the last game for my family, too. I'm very proud of our legacy.
I’m not necessarily against it
It's been a pretty good run right now ... Guys are playing well. It's not often that you get 10, 15 guys playing their 'A' game all at the same time. It's pretty spread out. Right now, we've got a lot of guys playing at the top of their game, and I think that's showing in our play.
It's not our job who gets traded or to worry about who gets traded ... All we can do is prove our point on the ice.
We are trying to finish as high as we can in the standings and play as well as we can
We have a lot of confidence
Trades are going to happen. It's not our job who gets traded or to worry about who gets traded ... All we can do is prove our point on the ice.
Two points. That's the end of the story
We've been in that situation before this year where we were the guys pouring it onto them and the other team gets up ... A goal like that, you probably really don't deserve to be up 1-0 but all of a sudden you are, it's a big boost for us.
I didn't know what to expect at first. He was 19, his first time away from home, but he just gets it ... He became more of a friend than anything else. I didn't show him the ropes or anything like that.
