View Photo »It doesn't appear that, at this point in time, that this was a random break-in. However, the investigation has only just begun. It's too early to say if the victim and the suspect knew each other
I heard (new coach Brian Kelly) is a charismatic guy and a great recruiter, which is the most important aspect of college football ... It's not so much X's and O's. If you've got a guy that can run down the field and catch it over the other guy, that's really all you need.

Of the three major candidates for the seat in District 11, two are full-time politicians ... Only one is of the people – Brian Kelly has worked in the private sector all his life.
I know there's a sense of urgency for our football program to be in that elite group ... And I don't want to wait. And nobody else seems to want to wait, either.
Brian Kelly is the kind of coach you’d like to play for ... I know the players are very excited about having him here, as they should be.
We have to get more touches for the three dynamic players at running back ... Somebody had to go to receiver. And Theo has the best overall skills.
I love Notre Dame football. If I cut myself shaving in the morning, I swear I bleed blue and gold. I was a big Charlie Weis fan, and I think he was close. But I think this guy, Brian Kelly, will put a little fire under their tails. He just has too good of a track record for it not to happen here.
We have plenty of routes, we have plenty of systems ... We have plenty of Xs and plenty of Os. I want to find out, do we care about each other? What do I have to do to build the leadership elements? Because we have to win right now. We can't wait to develop those dynamics.
I couldn’t wait to meet Brian Kelly
Strengths and weaknesses ... You can't be a great leader until you're humble enough to know you have some strengths and weaknesses.
Jon said coach Kelly would tell the players that they were going to win and no one doubted him ... He said they would win the championship and they all believed it would happen. And they won the championship. Brian Kelly has that confidence and it transfers to the players.
You rush into print with something that on the face of it looks innocent
Jon said coach Kelly would tell the players that they were going to win and no one doubted him ... He said they would win the championship and they all believed it would happen. And they won the championship. Brian Kelly has that confidence and it transfers to the players.
That's the next logical step
The good news, in my opinion? Brian Kelly doesn't care. Brian Kelly is going to bring in who he thinks is the right fit for him. And so far to this point, we can say what we want, but everything he's touched has turned to gold.
We had an experienced group in terms of seniors, but we had rookie seniors. They didn’t have much experience at this stage
The good news, in my opinion? Brian Kelly doesn't care. Brian Kelly is going to bring in who he thinks is the right fit for him. And so far to this point, we can say what we want, but everything he's touched has turned to gold.
We wanted them to go one-and-done. It didn’t happen ... It seemed like if their boys couldn’t stick it back, they would kick it out and, boom, hit a three.
An absolutely fantastic idea ... The way Brian Kelly handled the last two weeks, you just get the feeling this coach and this staff, given the time to form relationships, are going to deliver a top 10 class next year.
Three three’s within (three and a half minutes) -- it’s going to put pressure on you
We cannot judge Brian Kelly on what he did in the last month and a half ... Recruiting is a year-round process.
Chuck and I have a shared philosophy on how to recruit, which stems from our similar coaching background ... and I know he'll be a dynamic representative of our program when addressing a group of recruits.
Brian Kelly just wants the best football players he can find. And then he'll be able to use that football IQ, that moxie, and parlay that into his system and be successful with that.
My hope is there are 434 others that are regular people running for Congress and there is a groundswell of change in Congress
